The Alot is an imaginary creature that I made up to help me deal with my compulsive need to correct other people's grammar. It kind of looks like a cross between a bear, a yak and a pug, and it has provided hours of entertainment for me in a situation where I'd normally be left feeling angry and disillusioned with the world.
For example, when I read the sentence "I care about this alot," this is what I imagine:
I want an alot, if you're shopping for my birthday presents already.
I love stuff like this! I wonder, though, if it means we're increasingly willing to accept the random/outlandish/bizarre. Or was modern life always this nuts?
It was okay -- I don't think I would go all the way out to University City again just to eat at Distrito though. I have to admit, the food does photograph well.
It was cooler the other day when the crane was there destroying most
of the building.
I flew back to the US from Germany on the same day that Christian, Judith, and Ole came over on their vacation. First they went for about a week to spend time with a friend in New York, and then they came down for few days to see Philadelphia. I think the only thing we didn't do was eat cheesesteaks (next time!)
