Tutti Frutti in Philly

Tutti Frutti just opened in Philadelphia at the corner of Juniper & Walnut, where a Bonté used to be (across from Naked Chocolate).

Benedikt and I ducked in there on Friday to escape the heat and to see if it was anything special in the rapidly expanding microcosm of Philly froyo.

It's self-serve with maybe 10 flavors, including blueberry, peanut, acai berry, and cake. You can add lots of your own toppings, from fruit to nuts to gummi bears. You pay by the ounce at the end, pretty reasonably priced.

The frozen yogurt was cold and of a good consistency, the fruit toppings were fresh. It wasn't awesome but it was definitely good.

Spring Hike in the Wissahickon Valley Park

It was one of the beautiful Saturdays in March 2010 -- the 20th, to be exact. A motley crue assembled itself, almost by accident and made the journey up through Chestnut Hill to walk the Forbidden Drive, which follows the Wissahickon Creek. The Wissahickon Valley Park is part of Philadelphia's Fairmount Park system.

We tried to get ice cream, but the place was closed so we ended up at Bruno's Restaurant instead for a variety of artery-clogging food.
